Another human with its own history to tell。 Nobody would do it better than herself to live and be brave enough to put it on paper and publish it。 Well done

Easy read, obvious content, bit boring。

I found myself having a lot in common with the author。 Dyslexia and love for labels among other things。 So, most of what she talks about resonated。 Some things felt a bit general and earned eye roll from me。I am not very familiar with a genre, but it feels like solid title。

Extremely privileged。 Mainly read this for the business insight, nothing new or groundbreaking, a lot of focus on motherhood which wasn’t for me。 Some sections were pretty repetitive。

Anya shares about her journey as a businesswoman in fashion, most notably for the “I’m not a plastic bag” campaign, her life experiences and juggling life as a working mother (as do many successful career women)。 Her writing style is succinct and clear, with lists at certain points just like her personality。 It’s motivating and straightforward like speaking to a friend。 She makes entrepreneurship sound so easy, yet not everyone could have made it a success like her。 A quick read that I got throu Anya shares about her journey as a businesswoman in fashion, most notably for the “I’m not a plastic bag” campaign, her life experiences and juggling life as a working mother (as do many successful career women)。 Her writing style is succinct and clear, with lists at certain points just like her personality。 It’s motivating and straightforward like speaking to a friend。 She makes entrepreneurship sound so easy, yet not everyone could have made it a success like her。 A quick read that I got through within a day。 Although some points were cliche and repetitive but I guess that’s life and certain experiences are common in most autobiographies you read。 It was like speaking to an older friend, reading this book。 I didn’t feel there were many super inspiring points although I had a few snippets of reminders to self I picked up on, which was really what I needed。 Things that you thought you probably knew but tend to forget when life gets mundane and routine。Good for a beginner to this genre, as it’s not too complicated and easy to understand。 My personal preference would have been something that provokes more reflection and thought。 Sharing a few snippets of what left an impression on me; on decluttering, being your authentic self, selecting who you surround yourself with, humility and a more refreshing one - how COVID changed life in a good way。 I guess that’s something very real to most who have been feeling languished in recent years (yes, it’s been that long)。 So a nice reminder to look on the bright side and stop complaining about how COVID stole our time。 Note to self again hah。 It’s a cliche convo topic by now, stop blaming the pandemic for everything。 。。。more

Very obvious life advice content and a big bulk of the book was around parenthood/work balance which I found difficult to relate to

Daisy Atkins

Audio booked this one Great insight/ tips for women when it comes to family, relationships, the workforce and general life。 Would get 5/5 if I was a mother, which I’m not。

Gray McClellan

Refreshing, sprinkled with bits of wisdom and good anecdotes, gets you thinking about all the right things

Fiona

Rambling and lacks focus。 Not everything composed during a lockdown is worth publishing

Related to much of Anya’s struggles of juggling between career and family。She offered very sage advice in a logical, non judgemental, interesting, and often funny, way。Very much admire this successful woman whose managed to highly succeed in both work and love/family。

Bought on the strength of hearing her being interviewed on the radio and liking her。 I like her still - Anya comes across as a lovely woman。 The book is nothing startling or new and a bit too much about motherhood for me (not to mention slightly middle class) but it was pleasant enough。

Extremely refreshing。 A great book to read going into a new year。 I resonated with multiple personality traits with the author and her advice seemed so timely and encouraging

Got this on Audible’s £1 sale solely based on the book title。 Now I finally own a piece of Anya Hindmarch after failing to get a “I’m Not A Plastic Bag” 15 years ago。 I don’t think I’m the target audience – she talks so much about parenting and entrepreneurship which aren’t relevant for me at this stage (or ever)。 Other advice is nothing you haven’t heard of already, but big sis advice always gives me this warm fuzzy feeling。 And that piece of advice in the title is easily worth the £1。

I really liked this。 I hadn't heard of Anya Hindmarch until reading this, but I have a lot of respect for her。 She has a lot of wisdom to share and a strong voice。 I really liked this。 I hadn't heard of Anya Hindmarch until reading this, but I have a lot of respect for her。 She has a lot of wisdom to share and a strong voice。 。。。more

Nothing ground breaking but some little gems and applicable concepts。

Laura

What a delight to read! A refreshingly down to earth and honest female voice on entrepreneurship, family and the whole patchwork of life。

Really enjoyed this one, finally came round to read the last chapter today。 Hindmarch manages to give advice coming from her own life and experiences but in the kindest way - not „do this do that“ but more from a personal perspective。 While it’s hard for me to relate to the life of a 20something newly step-mom who’s founding her own business I still found her ambition and resilience quite impressive and agree with most of her personal opinions/values。

It's not a groundbreaking book but it is entertaining。 An interesting combination of life tips, good advice, the state of the world and a memoire。 Quite short and sweet and worth reading。 It's not a groundbreaking book but it is entertaining。 An interesting combination of life tips, good advice, the state of the world and a memoire。 Quite short and sweet and worth reading。 。。。more

Not really a book for me, quite children and entrepreneurship heavy but I learnt a few things。 Kinda boring though probably wouldn’t have finished it but I got over half way and I want to meet my yearly reading goal。

Sophia Exintaris

The first two chapters talked so much about parenthood i wondered if it would switch to something else。 It did。 A wonderful lessons learned / memoir / story / voice。 Absolutely worth reading or better yet listening to as it is narrated by the author and is absolutely lovely and inspiring!!!

Really enjoyed this brilliant, inspiring and empowering book!! Anya Hindmarch is a world famous businesswoman, entrepreneur, CEO, and a mother to five children (3 of whom are her step children who she's looked after since they were small)。 In the early 2000s, she created an it bag that everyone had to have, known as the "I'm Not a Plastic Bag" bag。 I remember even my mum had one!"If In Doubt, Wash Your Hair" is her best piece of advice, and the title of her very first non-fiction。 This guide to Really enjoyed this brilliant, inspiring and empowering book!! If you came for hair care routine, sorry you missed the memo。 Anya Hindmarch shares great advices for women especially mommies with career to build。 Although I am not yet a career woman, far from being a mom, I have no problem taking in her words。 I love that she doesn’t speak so highly of herself, she’s so humble (I really want to meet her in real life!) and her life stories that she shared are perfectly flawed aka normal。 Every family has their own moments when -parents are afraid if they gave If you came for hair care routine, sorry you missed the memo。 Anya Hindmarch shares great advices for women especially mommies with career to build。 Although I am not yet a career woman, far from being a mom, I have no problem taking in her words。 I love that she doesn’t speak so highly of herself, she’s so humble (I really want to meet her in real life!) and her life stories that she shared are perfectly flawed aka normal。 Every family has their own moments when -parents are afraid if they gave more affection to their younger child than the older ones-the kids are now teenagers and are more likely to become rebellious, breaking curfew (her eldest one has brilliant idea to solve this issue, he always has)-no work problem can be far worrying when your child got sickAnd Chapter 5 is my fav! When I requested a copy of this book from Bloomsbury India, I was under the impression that this is a self-help book。 I am not a big fan of non-fiction, but I occasionally do find myself flipping the pages of a random self-help title。 This is an autobiography/memoir (not sure) which also of course acts like a rather unusually helpful self-help book。Anya is a famous fashion designer based out of the UK and she is pretty popular。 For some reason, I had no clue about her before this book。 I think I When I requested a copy of this book from Bloomsbury India, I was under the impression that this is a self-help book。 I am not a big fan of non-fiction, but I occasionally do find myself flipping the pages of a random self-help title。 This is an autobiography/memoir (not sure) which also of course acts like a rather unusually helpful self-help book。Anya is a famous fashion designer based out of the UK and she is pretty popular。 For some reason, I had no clue about her before this book。 I think I live under a rock sometimes。。。 XD Anyway, so in here she kind of outlines how she has been able to function and manage her life - which includes shouldering the responsibilities not only at her work but also looking after her 5 children, husband and herself。 For anyone who's interested in topics like parenting, this book is a MUST HAVE for you。 I feel that Anya has not only given out very valuable lessons and tips and tricks when it comes to being a parent who's also working but in general as well。 She really loves her children and a large part of her life is spent making sure how they are all safe, cared for and know that they are loved。 The foundation of a happy family is exactly that。Even though she covers mental health, daily routine and lifestyle, love and friendship, society, work and pretty much everything else in between - I personally enjoyed the parenting section and parts of the book perhaps the most。 It's probably due to the fact that I really want to have kids someday。 And also that I constantly worry how I don't mess up at parenting because I not only realise how important a role of a parent is + how the kind of relationship you build with them growing up is going to determine the kind of relationship they have with you when you are old。 I absolutely loved this book。 I have underlined lots of quotes and highlighted some sections that I really liked and connected with。 This is one of those books that you can revisit anytime and read any page and it would still be interesting and insightful。 Thank you Bloomsbury India for sending across a copy。 。。。more
